YOUR ROLE
The Engineering Project Manager will play a key role in leading the planning, design, and execution of multidisciplinary MEP projects across diverse sectors, including healthcare, life sciences, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation as a licensed Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, a solid understanding of all MEP systems, and significant experience managing complex projects. This role combines technical leadership with client engagement and project management responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Management
- Lead and oversee the full lifecycle of MEP projects, including those in industrial, life sciences, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor project progress, proactively addressing any challenges or risks to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Manage project documentation, including technical reports, designs, and submittals.
- Provide technical oversight on MEP designs, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure cohesive coordination between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines for integrated project solutions.
- Conduct design reviews to assess system performance, cost-effectiveness, and project feasibility.
- Perform regular site visits to oversee project implementation and resolve any technical issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, developing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
- Lead client meetings, presenting project updates and technical solutions in a clear and effective manner.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering collaboration and professional development.
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork across the project management and engineering teams.
- Work closely with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Oversee project budgets and manage resources to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Track expenses and approve budgetary changes as needed, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Manage change orders and variations with clients and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or MEP engineering, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems across industrial, healthcare, life science and manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record managing complex projects from design to completion.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).

YOUR ROLE
We are seeking a seasoned Data Center Market Sector Lead /
Project Manager with a strong background in MEP design and a deep understanding of
mission-critical infrastructure. This role combines strategic leadership in the fast-
growing data center sector with hands-on project management responsibilities. You will
lead the firm’s efforts in developing this market, while managing high-performance
teams delivering cutting-edge data center projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Market Leadership
- Act as the subject matter expert and strategic lead for data center
projects. - Develop and implement growth strategies for the data center sector,
including client targeting and service development. - Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and business
development meetings.
- Lead the full lifecycle of MEP design and consulting for large-scale data center projects.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and team coordination.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, compliant, and technically sound designs.
- Oversee interdisciplinary collaboration between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams.
- Provide senior-level guidance on mechanical and/or electrical systems in data center environments (HVAC, chilled water, UPS, power distribution, redundancy planning, etc.).
- Participate in QA/QC processes and design reviews to ensure adherence to industry best practices and evolving client demands.
- Address complex technical challenges involving power, cooling, resiliency, and scalability in mission-critical facilities.
- Build and sustain relationships with key data center clients and hyperscale/cloud providers.
- Lead proposal efforts, contract negotiations, and long-term client development initiatives.
- Deliver technical presentations and project updates to executive-level stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and project staff, cultivating expertise in mission-critical design.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with company values and goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years managing data center or mission-critical MEP projects.
- Deep knowledge of data center design standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, ASHRAE TC 9.9, NFPA, BICSI).
- Demonstrated success in client-facing roles and strategic leadership within a specialized market sector.
- Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and project management software.
